ABOUT OCS

Overland Conveying Systems was started in 2001. The majority of our work has been in the coal industry, particularly in the material handling and processing: conveyor belts, screens, rotary breakers, crushers, and many of the associated efforts.

I believe a large part of OCS’s appeal has been our ability to deliver projects from conception through construction.  I am a civil/structural engineer and personally oversee all of the designs generated by OCS.  Engineering for us often includes preliminary conceptual designs, detailed design, surveying/layout, construction supervision, and start-up.

  • FABRICATION

Our Fabrication Shop is approximately 20,000 sq. ft. located on 50 acres in Western Kentucky.  We shear, brake, cut, drill and weld but have no machining capabilities. Historically, our fabrication work was mostly trusses, towers, beam & column, and chute work. Recently, with the addition of a beam line and some unique machines, we’ve expanded into conveyor ground structure and smooth conveyor covers.

  • Construction

On-site construction is the final service of most of our projects. Our concrete crews usually provide all the concrete foundations as well as more technical pours such as reclaim tunnels as long as 700’. Erection of the steel structures including beam & column towers, trusses, and mechanical drives is also normal for OCS projects. Our equipment fleet includes five RT cranes ranging from 28 to 75 tons, six telehandlers from 6,000 to 10,000 lbs., excavators, skid steers, and a general collection of trucks and other support equipment.
